Stellaris

Stellaris is Paradox Development Studio's space-themed, large-scale 4X grand strategy game. Players design their own alien civilization (with its own aesthetics, ethics, and government system), explore the galaxy, conduct diplomacy or war with other civilizations, and work over time to build a galactic empire. Paradox's signature deep, complex systems (population management, research trees, megastructure building) and a procedural universe filled with unexpected anomaly/discovery events make every playthrough unique. Continuously expanded through years of DLC and expansions (like Utopia and Federations), it's one of the deepest and most talked-about titles in the space strategy genre.
