Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (2023) is Sledgehammer Games' campaign continuing the story of Task Force 141, featuring the return of classic villain Vladimir Makarov and a new 'Open Combat Missions' design offering players more tactical freedom of choice. The game's most notable feature is its nostalgia-driven approach of bringing remastered versions of all classic Modern Warfare 2 (2009) maps to multiplayer. The Zombies mode also continues, offering a large open-world-style map for the first time. The game generated controversy at launch due to being positioned more as a direct 'expansion' of MW2 (2022) rather than a standalone generational release.
