Battlefield 2042 is DICE's entry that moves the series to the near future (2042), launching entirely multiplayer-focused without a story campaign. Playing as 'Non-Patriated' soldiers displaced by climate crises and war, players fight on massive 128-player maps featuring dynamic weather events (like tornadoes) and shifting map states, with unique abilities via the Specialists system of characters.
