About Alan Wake Remastered

Alan Wake Remastered is Remedy Entertainment's visually updated version of the 2010 original psychological thriller. Alan Wake, a successful thriller novelist, takes a vacation with his wife to the small town of Bright Falls; after she mysteriously disappears, he finds himself trapped in the nightmarish world of a novel he wrote but doesn't remember. The game is known for its light/dark combat mechanic, where darkness protects and empowers enemies while light weakens them and makes them vulnerable — you must hold a flashlight on enemies to break their 'shield' before finishing them off with a weapon. Its episodic, TV-drama-style story structure and literary, atmospheric storytelling make it distinctive within its genre. The Remastered edition includes improved visuals and both DLC episodes (The Signal, The Writer).
