A Plague Tale: Requiem

A Plague Tale: Requiem is Asobo Studio's action-adventure game continuing the story of Amicia and her brother Hugo de Rune, set in 14th-century France. Following the first game (Innocence), Requiem deals with the risk of Hugo's mysterious and dangerous power spiraling out of control, as the siblings journey through a larger, sunnier region of southern France (in contrast to Innocence's darker settings). The game's most recognizable feature is its screen-filling swarms of rats, simulated as thousands of individual creatures — these rats serve as both a threat and a tool for stealth and puzzle-solving. Its emotional, story-driven narrative and visually striking art direction made it one of the most praised examples in its genre.
