God of War (PC)

God of War (2018) is Santa Monica Studio's fundamental reinvention of the Greek-mythology-based series. Kratos now appears as a matured character trying to be a father, living in the world of Norse mythology; he embarks on a journey with his son Atreus to scatter his deceased wife's ashes atop the highest mountain. The game shifts from the series' traditional hack-and-slash camera to a single continuous shot, offering a heavier, more tactical melee combat system centered on the Leviathan Axe. Atreus contributing to combat as an AI companion, and the emotional depth of the father-son relationship, form the heart of the game's storytelling; this reinvention is widely considered the series' most acclaimed and award-winning entry.
